Memphis City Schools saw the need for a new neighborhood school in the Southeast Area of Memphis. Fleming Architects worked with Memphis City Schools to develop and build a new facility that would accommodate the needs of future students and would function as a gathering space for the community. The new 1200 student school includes classrooms, administrative offices, a gymnasium, dance studio, cafeteria, science labs, computer labs, art rooms, a pre-k and kindergarten suite, a community multipurpose room, and a unique outdoor amphitheater.
This school was the last construction project built under the Memphis City School System before it was incorporated into the Shelby County Consolidated School District.
