The Church of the Incarnation had expanded beyond the capacity of their existing sanctuary and asked Fleming Architects to help them enlarge their existing church facility, incorporate a new larger sanctuary, and create a classroom addition. The new sanctuary was modeled after the original building and was designed to be a reverent worshipful environment. The spoken word was extremely important to the church, and acoustics played a major role in the design decisions. With acoustics as the priority, Fleming developed a plan for a fan shaped sanctuary, which was optimal for the overall acoustics of the environment.
From the very beginning, Fleming Architects offered us a truly unique concept to expand our school while maintaining the beauty of our existing church. I have been involved in many projects over my professional career but can say this is one of the most enjoyable projects I have worked on and am proud of what we accomplished.
