Christ United Methodist Church’s thriving youth program lacked the sufficient space for meeting and worshiping. CUMC enlisted Fleming Architects to design a new two story youth building that would be sandwiched in between two existing buildings on the church campus. This new building contained a 200 seat youth assembly area, a mezzanine that overlooked the assembly space which would be used for overflow seating, classrooms, and café area. The new youth building also provided an enclosed connection between the activities areas and the existing education building.
“It was my privilege as chair of the building committee to work closely with both architects and interior designers at Fleming as well as the construction manager. They were attentive to our needs, patient with our inexperience and somehow able to fulfill the wishes of numerous work areas of the church.
