Neighborhood Christian Center - Golightly Building

Neighborhood Christian Center, an organization whose mission is to build stronger families and neighborhoods, provides compassionate, Christ-centered ministries to those in need. The Center had several existing locations around the mid-south, but needed a permanent home that would support their programs and provide a location for their administrative staff offices. The Neighborhood Christian Center joined with Fleming Architects to develop the plans for a new facility that would consist of worship space, gymnasiums, classrooms and an office suite. The building was designed with an industrial feel, tying it into the surrounding streetscape and environment.

Neighborhood Christian Center was one of North Memphis’s first projects to employ a Traditional Neighborhood Development design approach, which determined the building’s scale, setbacks, streetscapes, and design details.
