St. Agnes Academy – St. Dominic School Veritas Research Center & Cybrary

The Veritas Research Center at St. Agnes Academy serves a wide range of students, from Pre-K to Grade 12, with technology and academic resources. For the brand new Research Center, Fleming was challenged to develop a comprehensive design solution that established distinctive, versatile spaces within the facility that could be utilized by students of all ages. The Research Center contains a distance-learning center that accommodates 60 students and also functions as a meeting space for community organizations. The ‘Cybrary’ houses 30,000 printed copies of books and provides students with access to more than 37,000 electronic copies. The reading area is located along the outer wall, composed of full height windows, which gives students access to natural light and outdoor views.

I served as chair of the Building Committee for a $9,000,000 project at St. Agnes Academy – St. Dominic School from 1996-2000, and Scott was the architect for the campus master plan. He and I attended weekly meetings together for four years! During that time period, my respect for and admiration of his talent, expertise, attention and thoroughness grew immensely. He was not only dependable and responsible, but he was also sensitive to the financial discipline to which the School was dedicated. Scott became a very close friend to the School and to me. We developed a true partnership, and the School benefited from his personal attention to our needs
