Streets Ministries is a Christian organization dedicated to serving the youth of Memphis’s most underprivileged neighborhoods. Since its beginning in 1987, Streets has been devoted to helping and mentoring the students within the 38126 zip code, which is the third poorest zip code in the nation. The youth that live in the impoverished neighborhoods that Streets serves have easy access to drugs, high rates of teen pregnancies, overwhelming high school drop-out rates, and very little relational and family stability. Streets Ministries provides these at-risk youth with a safe haven to come to after school, allowing the students to be surrounded by staff that love them unconditionally and provide programs to meet their specific needs. The purpose of these programs is to instill students with a sense of confidence, empowerment, and belonging. Fleming has had the privilege to join with this highly influential organization to develop and construct their impactful facilities. The final building design includes TSSAA regulation basketball courts, a large assembly room, game room, kitchen, tutoring and Bible study rooms, and administrative offices.
