Fleming worked with Volvo of Memphis to design a new consumer-centric dealership that places more emphasis on customer and employee spaces rather than an oversized, over-the-top showroom. The building was designed to meet the “Volvo Next Face” prototype guidelines set by Volvo Cars North America. The “Volvo Next Face” concept, inspired by European minimalist design, includes ample glass, exposed metal, and sophisticated wood tones, which mimic the aesthetic of the Volvo automobile. The new showroom is comprised of a sales area, comfortable customer lounge with children’s play area, customer computer areas, staff offices, as well as service bays, parts, and storage areas.
This location was the last Volvo Dealership in the USA to be built using Volvo’s next Face prototype.
